Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Initiate the setup of projects following the award and handoff of estimates, ensuring that the project team, budget, and necessary documentation are prepared for the kickoff.

• Create and uphold project execution plans, identify critical risk paths, and establish milestone schedules.

• Prepare, oversee, and revise construction schedules along with job cost estimates.

• Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities to achieve completion milestones.

• Serve as the primary contact for clients, managing relationships and ensuring satisfaction.

• Maintain project reporting for clients and internal stakeholders.

• Oversee change processes that impact project costs, schedules, or scopes.

• Ensure that project documentation is kept up to date, including execution plans, risk registers, RFI logs, change order logs, schedules, health and safety plans, and quality plans.

• Manage expenses, approved budgets, and projections for resource hours.

• Ensure the prompt processing of accounts receivable and payable invoices.

• Lead kickoff meetings, project updates, change orders, recovery plans, and lessons-learned sessions.

• Utilize approved company systems.

• Stay informed about quality, acceptance, safety, and environmental requirements.

• Coordinate the closeout of projects and conduct post-mortems to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned.

• Provide leadership in project execution and deliver routine as well as ad hoc progress reports to senior management.

⛳️ Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in a relevant field is preferred.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent qualification is considered an asset.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing medium to large full cycle EPC or construction projects is required.

• Proven experience and knowledge in utility construction (such as electrical transmission/distribution, telecommunications) or similar fields is advantageous.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a proven track record of managing a diverse team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Strong understanding of reviewing and negotiating contracts for construction projects, coupled with robust technical, business, financial, and legal insight.

• A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and adaptability to change.

• Strong skills in time management and documentation.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel/Project applications, with prior experience using project management software (e.g., Primavera and Microsoft Project), and the capability to learn new software applications.

• A valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
