Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of application and systems projects, from intake to customer delivery, utilizing the SAFe DevSecOps framework.

• Direct Agile Scrum teams, products, and processes throughout the project lifecycle.

• Collaborate with technical leads to enhance CI/CD pipelines, application delivery, and infrastructure modernization efforts.

• Create and manage project schedules, budgets, performance metrics, and delivery milestones using Agile project management methodologies and tools.

• Monitor and report on project milestones, risks, dependencies, impediments, and escalation needs to program leadership and stakeholders.

• Communicate project vision, strategy, roadmaps, and planned deliveries to VA leadership and governance groups.

• Coordinate priorities, dependencies, and implementation strategies across the larger portfolio.

• Assist in achieving team objectives and project success through various additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related technical field.

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in managing IT projects.

• Significant experience in overseeing complex, large-scale IT projects throughout the complete application or systems development lifecycle.

• Proven experience leading Agile Scrum teams and applying lifecycle and project management methodologies within software development settings.

• Demonstrated capability to track and manage project costs, schedules, performance, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convert technical project activities into executive-level reports, correspondence, and presentations.

• Strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and risk management abilities, with the capacity to guide cross-functional teams and function effectively in high-pressure environments.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting, as required for the position.

• Must reside within the continental United States.

• PMP, SAFe, Scrum, or other relevant project management or Agile certifications are preferred.

• Prior IT project management experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal government agency is preferred.

• Previous strategic management or management consulting experience is preferred.
