Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Develop project plans in Smartsheet based on the Solutions Architect's scope of work, incorporating dependencies, critical paths, and sprint boundaries.

• Monitor scope, hours, and budget in real time; identify burn-rate risks and manage scope creep.

• Maintain risk registers, RAID logs, action trackers, and all relevant project documentation.

• Conduct daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and other delivery cadences.

• Eliminate sprint blockers and oversee sprint-level risks through reprioritization, descoping, story swaps, or escalation.

• Convert technical progress into business terminology and translate business priorities into actionable engineering requirements.

• Facilitate architecture reviews spanning India and three US time zones; document and disseminate decisions made.

• Generate evidence-based weekly status updates for customers.

• Take ownership of customer escalations and drive them to resolution.

• Onboard engineers regarding customer systems, scope, processes, deliverables, and documentation standards.

• Develop kick-off presentations, project charters, and tracking mechanisms in collaboration with customers.

• Review and authorize timesheets and leave requests; ensure accuracy in capacity planning and team calendar management.

• Negotiate changes in scope and produce formal change requests with impact analysis.

• Enhance sprint predictability through velocity planning and burndown tracking.

• Manage fixed-date customer engagements for Mactores, an AWS modernization firm utilizing its Aedeon agent platform to expedite delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in delivering cloud engineering or data engineering projects.

• Proficient in Smartsheet, Jira / Confluence, and Clockify.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching abilities.

• Strong instincts for prioritization and problem-solving.

• Proven track record of driving results rather than merely reporting on them.

• Experience managing at least one fixed-bid project from initiation to closure, including client negotiations on scope changes.

• Solid understanding of Agile delivery metrics, including velocity, burndown, and sprint predictability.

• Ability to operate comfortably in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments where requirements may evolve.

• Preferably experienced in managing Data Lake projects on AWS.

• Professional Scrum Master™ (PSM) certification is preferred.

• Certification in Managing Jira Projects is preferred.

• Smartsheet certification is preferred.
