Project Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Assist the Project Finance team in overseeing project profitability and assessing financial performance.

• Collaborate with Project Managers and operational project teams to gain insights into project economics.

• Monitor forecasts, identify margin risks, and facilitate process improvements.

• Help track project cash positions, services, PTCs, grants, outstanding invoices, and advances.

• Monitor operational project progress and monthly units versus budgeted tasks.

• Identify risks, inefficiencies, and deviations in scope, and escalate findings as necessary.

• Aid in revenue tracking and recognize changes in scope.

• Analyze cost-to-complete forecasts and their implications on project margins under supervision.

• Contribute to the preparation of budgets and proposals, including proposal mapping, exchange-rate considerations, and unit-based bid structures.

• Assist in creating payment schedules and volume-based discount schedules.

• Participate in operational project team meetings and monthly Project Management meetings, providing financial insights.

• Support departmental budgets, quarterly revenue forecasts, backlog reconciliation, and both internal and external financial audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with equivalent education and experience.

• Proven finance or accounting experience; project accounting/analysis is a plus.

• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or with a Contract Research Organization (CRO) is preferred.

• Strong command of the English language.

• Essential proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Familiarity with accounting software packages is required.

• Experience with Oracle Finance is advantageous.

• Understanding of financial modeling techniques.

• Excellent analytical skills are necessary.
