Project Engineer – Power & Renewables

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Create scopes of work and develop proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical engineering initiatives, mainly within the power and renewable energy sectors.

• Examine field logs and soil samples for classification and the preparation of boring logs.

• Conduct engineering analyses utilizing both company-specific and industry-standard methodologies.

• Provide geotechnical recommendations and compile engineering reports for senior-level review.

• Oversee geotechnical engineering projects, including managing scope, schedules, budgets, and safety protocols.

• Work autonomously on designated tasks with oversight from senior personnel.

• Conduct quality assessments of the work performed by assigned staff and address any internal and external project quality concerns.

• Collaborate with regional operations to effectively manage staff, resources, and workloads.

• Ensure that client expectations are consistently met or surpassed.

• Foster client relationships and support objectives and strategies within the wind market sector.

• Execute field testing and observations as necessary.

• Assist field operations with technician training and reviews as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil, or a related engineering discipline is required.

• Professional Engineer registration/licensure or the capability to obtain it within two years.

• Preferably five or more years of experience in construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering, though this is not mandatory.

• Previous involvement with large-scale construction projects is desirable.

• A valid driver's license is necessary.

• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail are required.

• Excellent organizational and customer service skills are needed.

• Capability to exceed client expectations in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

• Skill in creating, maintaining, and communicating project budgets is necessary.
