Project Engineer – Power & Renewables

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop scopes of work and draft proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical engineering projects, primarily focused on power and renewable energy.

• Review field logs and soil samples for proper classification and preparation of boring logs.

• Conduct engineering analyses utilizing company and industry methodologies.

• Provide geotechnical recommendations and compile engineering reports for senior review.

• Oversee geotechnical engineering projects, including management of scope, schedule, budget, and safety measures.

• Work independently on assignments of limited scope under Senior supervision.

• Execute quality reviews of the work performed by assigned staff and address internal and external project quality concerns.

• Collaborate with regional operations regarding staffing, resources, and workload management.

• Ensure that client expectations are consistently met or surpassed.

• Foster client relationships and support objectives and strategies within the wind market sector.

• Conduct field testing and observations as required.

• Assist field operations with technician training and review as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil, or a related engineering discipline is required.

• Professional Engineer registration/licensure or the ability to obtain it within two years is necessary.

• A minimum of five years of experience in construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering is preferred, though not mandatory.

• Previous involvement in large-scale construction projects is advantageous.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail are necessary.

• Excellent organizational and customer service skills are required.

• Capability to exceed client expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

• Skill in creating, maintaining, and communicating project budgets is important.
