Project Development Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive on-site surveys and audits across various client locations, including K-12 schools, higher education institutions, federal facilities, correctional facilities, and healthcare establishments.

• Record existing conditions using specified software applications.

• Create scopes of work and execute energy calculations for both existing and proposed conditions.

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks.

• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders effectively.

• Guarantee the precision and quality of project deliverables and timelines.

• Recognize and resolve intricate mechanical issues.

• Engage in various phases, subtasks, or entire projects of moderate complexity.

• Organize projects and subtasks for efficient tracking and presentation.

• Assist in scheduling development resources.

• Supervise technical staff, junior engineers, subcontractors, and facilitate cross-division coordination.

• Interpret blueprints, models, and technical drawings accurately.

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project development process.

• Investigate new technologies and industry trends to enhance products and processes.

• Assess new technologies and update historical documentation and deliverables to boost divisional efficiency.

• Independently decide on strategies for assigned tasks using technical expertise.

• Ensure the accuracy and results of team deliverables.

• Mentor, train, and guide junior team members and new development staff.

• Lead the Development segment of ECM Challenger meetings as assigned.

• Carry out additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, concentrating on electrical, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering.

• Expertise in auditing various systems, including domestic water, process water, steam, building envelope, HVAC Armor, and demand control ventilation.

• Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in at least one system or area, with a working knowledge of several others.

• Strong grasp of engineering principles.

• High proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and specifications.

• Capability to collect, analyze, and interpret energy consumption data effectively.

• Outstanding analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in training work groups and leading teams.

• Competent in delivering presentations and crafting proposals and reports.

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

• High attention to detail in calculations, designs, and reports.

• Ability to remain informed about evolving energy technologies, regulations, and best industry practices.

• Understanding of ROI, payback periods, and life cycle cost analysis.

• Proficient knowledge of energy and water scope documentation, as well as measurement and verification practices.

• Solid understanding of estimating practices.

• Growth-oriented mindset for enhancing industry knowledge and divisional efficiencies.

• Previous experience in the construction industry is advantageous.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Capacity to walk and stand for extended periods.

• Ability to ascend and descend stairs.

• EIT, PE, CEM, LEED, CLIA, CWEP, or PMP certification is preferred.
