This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Act as a vital link between the Sourcing department and Engineering/Product Design teams.
β’ Propel structural cost savings throughout the product lifecycle.
β’ Collaborate with Engineering and Commodity teams to incorporate cost control strategies into product and project development.
β’ Facilitate cross-functional workshops aimed at generating cost-saving ideas, such as material substitution, design simplification, and improvements in manufacturing processes.
β’ Oversee the complete execution of cost-reduction projects.
β’ Monitor progress, address risks, and guarantee that savings are realized and validated through the Profit & Loss statement.
β’ Employ Should-Cost modeling to determine target costs for components and assemblies.
β’ Offer data-driven insights during negotiations and design evaluations.
β’ Track and report on cost-reduction performance metrics, including project pipeline value, achieved savings, and margin enhancements.
β’ Maintain a dashboard to oversee project status and savings realization.
β’ Involve key suppliers in value engineering initiatives alongside the Sourcing team.
β’ Create and standardize the cost-reduction process.
β’ Ensure consistent methodologies for identifying opportunities and validating financial outcomes.
β’ Deliver annualized savings, uphold project pipeline health, and enhance the accuracy of cost-reduction forecasting.
β’ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field; or substantial equivalent experience in sourcing, manufacturing engineering, value engineering, product costing, or procurement.
β’ 5β8+ years of experience in product costing, value engineering, procurement, or product design.
β’ Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including forgings, machining, investment casting, fabrication, and integrations.
β’ Proven capability to influence stakeholders at all levels, especially in resolving technical disputes between design specifications and cost limitations.
β’ Solid financial acumen and the ability to translate technical design modifications into tangible impacts on the Profit & Loss statement.
β’ Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with strict deadlines and financial objectives.
β’ Master's degree in a technical or business field is preferred.
β’ 8+ years of sourcing experience within the power generation sector is preferred, particularly focused on plant equipment accessories (MSD, BOP, HRSG).
β’ Experience with lean tools, including A3, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and problem-solving techniques.
β’ Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Strong interpersonal and facilitation capabilities.
β’ Familiarity with SAP, Smartsheet, and Tableau.
