This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Commodity teams to embed cost control principles into product and project development.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops aimed at generating cost-reduction strategies, such as material substitution, design simplification, and enhancements in manufacturing processes.
• Oversee the complete execution of cost-out projects.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, and confirm that savings are achieved and validated through the P&L.
• Apply Should-Cost modeling to set target costs for components and assemblies.
• Deliver data-driven insights during negotiations and design assessments.
• Track and report on cost-out performance metrics, including project pipeline value, realized savings, and improvements in margins.
• Maintain a dashboard to monitor project status and savings realization.
• Involve key suppliers in value engineering initiatives alongside the Sourcing team.
• Establish and standardize the cost-out process for consistent opportunity identification and financial validation.
• Attain annualized savings through cost-out initiatives.
• Ensure the health of the project pipeline and accurate forecasting for cost reductions.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field; or substantial equivalent experience in sourcing, manufacturing engineering, value engineering, product costing, or procurement.
• Between 5 and 8+ years of experience in product costing, value engineering, procurement, or product design.
• Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, including forgings, machining, investment casting, fabrication, and integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and to resolve technical discrepancies between design requirements and cost limitations.
• Strong financial knowledge and capacity to translate technical design modifications into measurable P&L effects.
• Proven success in managing intricate, multi-stakeholder projects with tight deadlines and financial objectives.
• Experience in sourcing for power generation products, ideally plant equipment accessories such as MSD, BOP, and HRSG.
• Familiarity with lean tools, including A3, VSM, and problem-solving techniques.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and facilitation abilities.
• Experience with SAP, Smartsheet, and Tableau.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
