This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Assist in the management of digital storytelling projects and initiatives.

• Create comprehensive project work plans, budgets, spending strategies, schedules, milestone charts, goals, and objectives.

• Develop and oversee budgets and spending strategies; compute projections and burn rates.

• Evaluate contractor proposals and pricing; calculate travel expenses using foreign per diem rates.

• Keep financial records, track project spending in ERP, and act as the fiscal manager for project requests.

• Collaborate with project managers and CFCH staff to prepare briefing materials, concept notes, status reports, briefing books, and project documentation.

• Document meeting discussion points and decisions for dissemination.

• Perform desk research and maintain information regarding potential digital storytelling opportunities.

• Organize meetings and arrange travel authorizations and vouchers.

• Travel domestically and internationally as required to support assigned projects.

• Coordinate with Smithsonian partners and supporting units on grants, contracts, office management, and financial matters.

• Act as a liaison with the Office of Sponsored Projects regarding grant compliance.

• Coordinate Statements of Work with the Office of Contracting and internal administrative and finance teams.

• Assist in program evaluation plans, impact evaluation tools, evaluation data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.

• Maintain evaluation data systems and Excel databases for partners/participants.

• Conduct research utilizing library and online resources.

• Provide technical support for fieldwork and lead or assist in training sessions in the United States and abroad.

• Assist in communications and the development of digital storytelling capabilities for cultural heritage organizations.

• Gather and refresh public-facing web materials while formulating communication plans and social media content.

• Acquire vendor bids, initiate contracts and purchase orders, verify vendor enrollment, and address payment inquiries.

• Utilize PeopleSoft to review payment history, track payments, and confirm payment details.


⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with standard communications and digital storytelling practices and procedures.

• Understanding of project management principles and techniques.

• Knowledge of administrative processes in an automated office setting sufficient to handle forms and support project activities.

• Awareness of basic budget and grant administration procedures.

• Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative evaluation design.

• Ability to communicate orally with cultural practitioners, academic institutions, and governmental and non-governmental organizations.

• Proficient in written communication with cultural practitioners, academic institutions, and governmental and non-governmental organizations.

• Capability to conduct research and produce written reports.

• Education obtained outside the United States must be recognized as equivalent to U.S. higher education programs by a credential evaluation organization.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Required to pass a pre-employment background check and subsequent investigation.

• Must complete a probationary period.

• Maintain a bank account for direct deposit/electronic transfer purposes.

• Fulfill all qualification and eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date.
