Project Buyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Oversee procurement processes for 5–6 active core projects, ensuring they align with project timelines and budgets.

• Examine engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and project specifications to identify material and service needs.

• Source and acquire conveyor components, mechanical assemblies, structural steel, motors, drives, bearings, belts, rollers, controls, and fabricated parts.

• Issue and manage purchase orders and subcontracts related to core project scopes.

• Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.

• Coordinate freight and logistics with third-party logistics (3PL) partners to guarantee timely delivery.

• Monitor orders, expedite essential materials, and minimize supply chain risks.

• Oversee project budgets and assist with cost control and budget analysis.

• Manage onsite rentals and equipment utilization, including off-renting activities.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to address supply or scope changes.

• Maintain precise procurement records within ERP/MRP systems.

• Support the tracking of supplier performance and the development of strong relationships.

• Excellent communicator with the ability to foster relationships with internal teams and external partners.

• Comfortable negotiating and engaging in direct, solution-focused discussions with suppliers.

• Proactive mindset with the initiative to address issues before they affect project outcomes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

• Experience or interest in material handling, construction, manufacturing, or a related field.
