Manager, Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the accounting departments

• Develop growth plans and offer mentorship, technical guidance, support, and feedback to accounting personnel

• Liaise with FP&A, clients’ leadership, physician leadership, financial analysts, and managers regarding accounting matters, reports, and functions

• Enhance quality, boost efficiency, and minimize bank fees

• Engage in setting objectives and managing team members

• Establish and supervise internal controls over assets; create and document accounting policies and procedures

• Prepare cash-basis financial statements for medical groups for tax purposes

• Support the Assistant Controller/Controller with the preparation of annual GAAP-basis financial statements

• Coordinate annual audits and tax submissions for all entities

• Ensure adherence to fiscal deadlines, accurate data provision, monthly closing, and timely transaction recording

• Formulate and implement procedures to collect data for reliable financial information and planning

• Construct and refresh financial reports while delivering financial analysis

• Collaborate with Treasury on inter-company transactions and oversee CEPA entities’ cash positions and transfers

• Aid with NetSuite bank reconciliations

• Improve processes within NetSuite, Coupa, and Concur

• Automate manual tasks through technology

• Partner with IT and department managers on cross-departmental projects and operations

• Provide leadership and management for designated finance functions

• Assist in the creation of finance-related service level agreements with departments

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of seven years of experience in Accounting is required

• Two to three years of progressive management experience is necessary

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required

• Experience in a multi-state company is preferred

• Familiarity with NetSuite ERP is preferred

• Previous experience in the healthcare sector is preferred

• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP

• Strong understanding and practical knowledge of current accounting and finance reporting standards

• Working knowledge of business accounting practices

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Vlookup, and basic formulas

• Strong analytical abilities with a knack for researching and resolving issues

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work collaboratively across functions in a fast-paced and evolving environment

• Capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships

• Skill in evaluating and effectively communicating information in reports to Finance, Operations, and Executive teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities while meeting critical business deadlines

• Strong time management and organizational capabilities
