Program Manager – Workforce Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Plan and implement health career exposure events across partner schools on a campus-wide basis.

• Recruit clinicians, allied health professionals, and other guest speakers for panels, demonstrations, and interactive stations.

• Organize field trips to college campuses, technical centers, healthcare facilities, and various career environments.

• Manage transportation, obtain school approvals, coordinate site logistics, confirm guests, and resolve issues as they arise.

• Monitor grant milestones, including events conducted, students engaged, and field trips executed.

• Keep precise records of activities, trackers, and grant-reporting documentation.

• Collaborate with the national Curriculum and M&E team to ensure consistent delivery of healthcare career content across West Virginia club sites.

• Partner with Regional Program staff and near-peer mentor facilitators to provide career content during weekly club sessions.

• Identify gaps in content delivery and communicate improvement suggestions to the Curriculum team.

• Provide personalized career assessment and coaching support for selected students.

• Assist in the identification, scheduling, and logistics for student coaching services.

• Foster and maintain relationships with hospitals, clinics, universities, and healthcare professionals.

• Build a network of guest speakers, panelists, and field trip hosts throughout West Virginia.

• Represent HealthCorps at various school and community events.

• Prepare milestone reports in collaboration with the Program Director of Appalachia.

• Contribute to national workforce development initiatives as needed.

• Report directly to the Program Director of Appalachia.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• 5+ years of pertinent program management experience.

• Background in youth services, health education, workforce development, or partnerships with universities/communities.

• Based in West Virginia or within a reasonable distance for regular travel across the state.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Comfortable with outbound outreach focused on relationship-building.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• A strong passion for connecting young individuals, particularly in rural areas, with future opportunities.

• Keen attention to detail and an ability to maintain trackers and spreadsheets effectively.

• Self-motivated and capable of developing processes and relationships from the ground up.

• Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

• Strong skills in logistics and event planning.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Claude, and Canva.

• Willingness to travel extensively throughout West Virginia.

• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

• Background investigation and/or reference check clearance must be obtained as a condition of the job offer.
