Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Ensure the successful implementation of the Chapter’s approved Grand Canyon program objectives.

• Collaborate in formulating program strategies alongside directly-affected communities and partner organizations.

• Work in close partnership with volunteer leaders and communities directly impacted by Grand Canyon initiatives.

• Create and execute campaign strategies for Grand Canyon programs and projects in alignment with chapter policies.

• Recruit, inspire, and coordinate volunteers while facilitating grassroots engagement.

• Identify, recruit, and organize volunteers for campaigns related to the Grand Canyon.

• Present information to community, political, and governmental entities regarding efforts related to the Grand Canyon.

• Compose press releases, articles for newsletters, flyers, and posts for social media.

• Collaborate with media representatives and communities affected, including Indigenous groups, to ensure accurate portrayal.

• Participate in task forces and committees as designated.

• Promote equity, inclusion, and justice initiatives through collaborative partnerships and engagement strategies.

• Carry out various other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the environmental sector, encompassing research, campaign organization, media relations, and public speaking.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in computer skills.

• Proven effectiveness in working with volunteers and communities that are directly impacted.

• Dedicated to continually deepening understanding of systems of oppression through study, openness, and humility.

• A constructive, solution-focused mindset, a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and genuine kindness.

• Experience engaging with or within Indigenous communities.

• Familiarity with the broader Grand Canyon region.
