This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the 3-8 math academic program.
• Make and document curriculum decisions for 3-8 math, including the selection of learning software and instructional materials.
• Develop and sustain the Primer Math Learning Continuum.
• Create and facilitate training for Primer Leaders and virtual math teachers.
• Monitor the effectiveness of math applications, adaptive learning tools, research, and implementation results.
• Ensure the quality and consistency of the program as Primer expands.
• Analyze student performance and program usage data to inform program decisions.
• Oversee virtual math teachers across various campuses.
• Establish expectations and provide constructive feedback on virtual math instruction.
• Collaborate with the Academic team to guarantee coherence and continuity from K-8.
• Work alongside the Director of Campus Teams and Head of Training regarding program modifications and training.
• Report to and work closely with the Director of Academics.
• Collaborate with the product team on features and integrations related to 3-8 math.
• Identify gaps in the math program support on Primer.com and advocate for effective solutions.
• Travel quarterly to observe the math program in action.
• Cultivate relationships with Primer Leaders and virtual math teachers.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching or leading math instruction for grades 3-8.
• Experience in managing or coaching teachers is essential.
• Proven experience in designing, strategically shaping, or enhancing a math program.
• Familiarity with adaptive or mastery-based math programs.
• Expertise in math instruction and learning software.
• Profound knowledge of 3-8 math and software-driven instructional models.
• Practical experience with major math learning applications and adaptive platforms.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in curriculum, instructional design, or a closely related field.
• Strong skills in people management, collaboration, and communication.
• Experience in managing a team and providing direct, actionable feedback.
• Ability to work independently within a distributed team.
• Willingness to travel quarterly to various campuses.
• Experience in a charter, microschool, or non-traditional school environment is a plus.
• Experience managing a remote or distributed team of teachers is a plus.
• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Option for remote work.
