Program Director – Virtual Mentoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, construct, and launch iMentor’s virtual mentoring program for the 26/27 Pilot Year.

• Take ownership of the internal aspects of the virtual mentoring pilot, coordinating external partnerships, activating corporate partners, enhancing the mentor experience, and strategizing for program learning and future growth.

• Lead the activation of virtual mentoring partnerships following the handoff from External Relations.

• Convert corporate partner commitments into effective implementation.

• Promote employee participation and facilitate mentor onboarding, training, engagement, and support.

• Monitor participation, engagement, and experiences to assist with partner stewardship, renewal, and growth.

• Report progress to corporate partners and encourage deeper, long-term involvement.

• Collaborate with Strategic Communications to produce materials that motivate corporate partnerships and boost mentor recruitment.

• Support Mentor Training and offer continuous assistance throughout mentor-student pair engagements.

• Act as the primary contact for the technology partner, UStrive.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of UStrive’s virtual mentoring model.

• Regularly report to stakeholders on program enhancements and achievements.

• Analyze both quantitative and qualitative program assessment data.

• Identify effective practices, diagnose challenges, suggest pilot modifications, and create a roadmap for scaling.

• Collaborate with the Organizational Learning & Impact team to define and track measures of pilot success.

• Evaluate the conditions necessary for high-quality virtual mentoring and recommend future design, scaling, and impact strategies.

• Balance growth and implementation objectives with program quality and participant outcomes.

• Report directly to the Senior Vice President of Impact Programming.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven success in building or launching a new program, initiative, product, or service, ideally from conception to implementation.

• Experience managing corporate partnerships, employee engagement, volunteer recruitment, business development, or other external-facing roles.

• Traditional fundraising experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Background in volunteer recruitment, customer/user acquisition, partnership development, or other audience growth strategies that require persuasive engagement.

• Strong project and program management capabilities.

• Ability to coordinate various internal and external stakeholders and transition complex work from strategy to execution.

• Proficient in using quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate performance, identify issues, test enhancements, and make informed recommendations.

• Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and establishing systems and processes where they are lacking.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

• Experience with tech-enabled programs and/or collaborating with technology partners, with an understanding of user experience and data interpretation.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Must comply with district public-school compliance requirements, including background checks.

• Must be fully vaccinated prior to the start date to adhere to the NYC Vaccine mandate.
