Program Director – Fidelity Charitable Catalyst Fund

📋 Description

• Oversee the state and local giving infrastructure initiatives for the Fidelity Charitable Catalyst Fund in the Deep South.

• Direct the national grantmaking portfolio that emphasizes donor engagement and education.

• Motivate individual donors to contribute to promising nonprofits that have limited access to philanthropic funding.

• Manage a portfolio of over 40 grant relationships both in the Deep South and across the nation.

• Cultivate potential grantee relationships, conduct grant due diligence and assessments, and provide grant recommendations.

• Establish goals with grantees, track progress, and analyze as well as synthesize grant reports.

• Represent the Catalyst Fund at grantee events, funder conferences, and within the national donor-support ecosystem.

• Facilitate connections between national organizations and local grantees.

• Suggest revisions to strategy and grantmaking priorities based on research, trends, and insights gained from grantees.

• Collaborate with the Executive Director on grantee learning events, communications, process enhancements, board communications, and special projects.

• Work alongside Fidelity Charitable teams on initiatives that encourage direct donor contributions or align with the Catalyst Fund.

• Collaborate with Fidelity Charitable’s Marketing team to promote grantees and stimulate donor engagement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Immigration sponsorship is not available.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in leading donor education, engagement, advising, or nonprofit fundraising capacity-building programs.

• At least 4 years of experience as a grantmaker responsible for independently managing a grant portfolio.

• Required lived experience in the Deep South.

• Proven knowledge of philanthropy and the nonprofit sector throughout the Deep South.

• Preference for candidates residing in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, or South Carolina.

• Strong understanding of national and local trends, research, and organizations that influence donor giving behavior, donor-advised funds, capacity building, and nonprofit fundraising.

• Excellent analytical, research, and writing abilities.

• Significant experience in public speaking to donor and nonprofit audiences.

• Proven ability to collaborate across diverse groups, build trust, achieve common goals, solve problems independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.

• High proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

• Experience with grants management systems, such as Fluxx.

• Must comply with applicable regulatory and criminal history requirements.

• Willingness to travel for at least 50% of the role.
