Program Director, Bachelor of Nursing – Open Rank Faculty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Deliver innovative leadership for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

• Design and execute strategic plans for the program's advancement.

• Act as the program's representative within the department, college, and university.

• Forge community partnerships, build clinical affiliate relationships, and initiate interdisciplinary collaborations.

• Promote excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly activities.

• Oversee faculty and staff within the BSN program.

• Sustain and enhance existing programs; propose new program tracks or options as necessary.

• Create and manage the annual program budgets effectively.

• Ensure ongoing compliance with CCNE standards and State Board of Nursing regulations.

• Assist in student recruitment, enrollment, and retention initiatives.

• Track and document NCLEX-RN outcome metrics and educational results.

• Assign faculty members to course teaching responsibilities.

• Supervise and mentor full-time, adjunct, and clinical coordination faculty.

• Monitor and report on accreditation, regulatory, and institutional compliance matters.

• Contribute to institutional accreditation efforts.

• Stay updated on nursing education, healthcare trends, and accreditation/licensure standards.

• Aid in strategic planning, program expansion, clinical pathway development, and operational efficiencies.

• Provide recommendations based on healthcare data, industry insights, and workforce trends.

• Evaluate nursing courses, review clinical sites, and analyze faculty/student evaluations.

• Track, assess, and report on retention, graduation, and first-time NCLEX-RN pass-rate metrics.

• Mentor nursing students and program faculty to foster growth.

• Teach courses while participating in community and professional service and scholarly activities.

• Oversee program budgets and clinical resources judiciously.

• Interview candidates, determine instructional needs, and recommend the hiring of adjunct faculty and clinical instructors.

• Participate in or chair hiring committees as directed.

• Establish and nurture relationships with healthcare clinical partners, preceptor networks, and community health agencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• An earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution is required.

• An active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license is necessary.

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain RN licensure in state jurisdictions as required for program oversight.

• A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive academic leadership experience in higher education nursing programs is essential.

• Demonstrated expertise in nursing accreditation processes, particularly with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and State boards of nursing.

• A proven record in curriculum design, online/hybrid learning modalities, instructional quality, and NCLEX-RN outcome monitoring.

• Experience in managing program budgets, supervising remote faculty, building clinical affiliate networks, and fostering student success is required.

• A Doctorate in Nursing (DNP, PhD, or EdD in Nursing/Higher Education) is strongly preferred.
