Program Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Zip’s most critical, high-priority cross-functional programs and special initiatives.

• Convert executive priorities and enterprise strategy into organized action plans and quantifiable business results.

• Create roadmaps, governance frameworks, decision-making structures, operational rhythms, and reporting schedules.

• Manage the comprehensive health and coordination of intricate programs that encompass various initiatives, teams, and business objectives.

• Develop consolidated roadmaps that span product, technology, operations, personnel, finance, legal, commercial, and go-to-market workstreams.

• Facilitate interdepartmental coordination by defining ownership, decision rights, dependencies, milestones, and accountability.

• Track program progress, stakeholder feedback, risks, decisions, resource limitations, and emerging challenges.

• Drive escalations and support complex decision-making processes until resolution.

• Provide guidance to executive leadership on program direction, integration strategy, organizational impacts, risks, opportunities, and necessary decisions.

• Lead or coordinate activities related to change management and organizational transitions.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Delivery, and business teams throughout the delivery and stabilization phases.

• Ensure programs are equipped with the necessary resources, capabilities, expertise, sponsorship, and decision-making support.

• Utilize Jira, Confluence, AI, automation, and contemporary tools to enhance visibility, communication, reporting, efficiency, and process repeatability.

• Develop scalable strategies for future strategic initiatives, integrations, and transformations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field; a graduate degree is preferred.

• Program or Project Management certification is advantageous.

• Over 15 years of experience in program management, strategy and operations, consulting, delivery management, technical program management, integration, transformation, or similar leadership positions within technology organizations.

• At least 5 years of experience managing complex operations in financial technology, banking, payments, lending, or consumer financial services.

• Demonstrated success in leading intricate, cross-functional programs and special projects across multiple teams, functions, and initiatives, with accountability for results.

• Strong business insight and the capability to define success criteria, assess trade-offs, and link execution to tangible business outcomes.

• Outstanding executive presence, stakeholder leadership, and influence.

• Excellent executive communication skills and judgment; adept at synthesizing complex information and managing escalations.

• Ability to navigate between strategy and execution, resolve uncertainties, mitigate risks, unblock decisions, and regain momentum.

• Solid technical and delivery expertise, including contemporary software delivery methodologies.

• Proficient in managing program-level risks, dependencies, capacity issues, and decision-making frameworks.

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, AI, automation, and modern program management techniques.

• Composed, practical, results-driven leadership style that aligns with Zip’s values.

• This is a remote-first opportunity for employees based in the US.
