This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Develop and oversee member-focused programs, resources, and services for the Practice Innovation and Professionalism Center.
• Lead the development, assessment, administration, and ongoing enhancement of programs supporting members and volunteers.
• Act as the staff liaison for the Pro Bono Committee.
• Recruit, onboard, assist, and retain volunteers.
• Manage member intake, referrals or matching, communications, follow-up, quality assurance, and recordkeeping protocols.
• Monitor member needs and program results, identify service gaps, and propose enhancements.
• Create practice management checklists, templates, articles, toolkits, guides, and other practical resources.
• Serve as the primary resource for inquiries concerning practice management, technology, workflows, professionalism, and AILA resources.
• Draft, edit, maintain, publish, update, and archive content for the website and educational materials.
• Coordinate contributors and collaborate with staff and volunteer experts to develop accessible resources for members.
• Organize, compile, maintain, and repurpose content for lawyers, paralegals, and legal teams.
• Lead documentation of workflows, process mapping, standard operating procedures, and improvements to systems.
• Maintain program databases, tracking systems, templates, resource inventories, and standards for data entry.
• Implement technological and process redesigns to enhance efficiency, member experience, program consistency, and knowledge sharing.
• Research and support the development of new programs, services, partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and other growth opportunities.
• Provide additional support for member services, research, content, programs, and projects as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in an immigration law firm, immigration legal services organization, legal operations, association programs, or similar environments.
• Strong preference for candidates with immigration paralegal experience.
• Preferred paralegal certificate or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of immigration law practice, law firm workflows, and the roles of attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff.
• Ability to respond to member or client inquiries, identify underlying needs, and recognize issues requiring escalation.
• Strong skills in writing, editing, research, organization, project management, and relationship building.
• Experience with Microsoft 365.
• Comfort with learning project management, content management, database, analytics, and artificial intelligence tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, including extended periods at a computer workstation, virtual meetings, and ongoing communication with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Participation in the AILA Annual Conference each June is mandatory.
