Professional Services Engineer – Cloudflare Implementation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement Cloudflare environments for enterprise and public-sector clients who speak French.

• Configure and deploy DNS, CDN, caching, WAF, DDoS mitigation, rate limiting, load balancing, Bot Management, Zero Trust and Access, tunnels, and SASE components.

• Facilitate migrations from Akamai and other CDN/WAF providers.

• Translate rules, plan traffic cutovers, execute staged deployments, and create rollback procedures.

• Plan and execute production DNS cutovers with validated rollback strategies at each stage.

• Construct and deliver pilots and proofs of concept through to full production rollouts.

• Test, validate, and optimize deployed environments, focusing on cache-hit ratios, latency, and WAF false positives.

• Lead technical workshops, configuration reviews, cutover rehearsals, and go-live calls in French.

• Communicate technical decisions, risks, and implementation considerations to engineers and management stakeholders.

• Create client-facing technical documentation in both French and English.

• Identify and appropriately escalate technical, delivery, architecture, design, and scope risks.

• Provide project progress updates, flag delays or blockers, and maintain project timesheets.

• Conduct structured handovers to managed services, including comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and known risks.

• Collaborate with implementation, managed services, pre-sales, and architecture teams across various international locations.

• Utilize Zoho Projects and BrixioOne for project tasks, documentation, and reporting.

• Contribute to the internal knowledge base, implementation patterns, and playbooks.

• Support managed services teams with complex implementation escalations while sharing technical expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, and certificates.

• Experience with proxies and reverse proxies.

• Understanding of caching and CDN mechanics.

• Familiarity with web application architecture and origin infrastructure.

• Fundamental knowledge of cloud services across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Knowledge of web application security, including WAF concepts, OWASP Top 10, bot mitigation, DDoS attack patterns, and rate limiting.

• Proficiency with tools such as curl, dig, traceroute, browser developer tools, and packet capture tools.

• Scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or Terraform.

• Experience with REST APIs.

• Full professional proficiency in both French and English, with assessments in both languages during the interview process.

• Senior Engineer: 5+ years of experience in implementing network, security, or cloud infrastructure for external clients.

• Senior Engineer: hands-on experience with Cloudflare implementation.

• Mid-Level Engineer: 3+ years of relevant experience in network, security, or cloud environments, or robust technical support/NOC experience with real implementation exposure.

• Mid-Level Engineer: solid technical fundamentals; Cloudflare experience is advantageous but not required, with equivalent experience in CDN, WAF, or Zero Trust being acceptable.

• Background in professional services, consultancy, MSP, or systems integrator environments with established project timelines.

• Confidence in working directly with external clients.

• Experience with production cutovers or migrations under formal change control is a considerable advantage.

• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers is a significant plus.
