Professional Fee Coder – Per Diem

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Code and abstract professional fee hospital services provided by SLPG physicians based on medical records.

• Implement ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, AHA, AMA, and CMS standards.

• Use 3M Encoder to confirm RVUs and ensure correct CPT-4 procedure unbundling.

• Achieve a coding accuracy rate of 95% through comprehensive quality reviews.

• Adhere to daily productivity targets as specified.

• Enter abstracted physician data into specialty-specific databases.

• Facilitate educational sessions for medical personnel regarding coding and documentation compliance.

• Collaborate with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing to guarantee proper information flow.

• Ensure data integrity through quarterly assessments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS-P certification with knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

• Required experience of 1-3 years in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding.

• Prior experience with computerized patient record and coding systems is preferred.

• Capability to uphold a 95% coding accuracy rate.

• Ability to maintain daily productivity as required.

• Current knowledge of coding standards for physician services, including hospital inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care, and E & M services.

• Ability to sit for up to seven hours daily, in segments of three to four hours.

• Frequent typing and data entry using hands and fingers.

• Occasionally lift up to ten pounds using upper body strength.
