Professional Fee Coder, Per Diem

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform coding and abstraction of professional fee hospital services rendered by SLPG physicians based on medical records.

• Implement ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, AHA, AMA, and CMS guidelines.

• Utilize the 3M Encoder to verify RVUs and ensure accurate CPT-4 procedure unbundling.

• Achieve and maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate through comprehensive quality reviews.

• Uphold daily productivity standards.

• Enter abstracted physician information into specialty-specific databases.

• Facilitate educational sessions for medical staff on coding and documentation compliance.

• Collaborate with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing to guarantee effective information flow.

• Ensure data quality through quarterly reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS-P certification with a solid understanding of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding is required.

• Prior experience with computerized patient record and coding systems is preferred.

• Capability to maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate.

• Ability to meet daily productivity expectations as specified.

• Current knowledge of coding guidelines for various physician services, including inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care, and E&M services.

• Ability to sit for extended periods, up to seven hours each day.

• Frequent typing and data entry tasks are expected.

• Ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to ten pounds.

• Full legal name and current home address must be provided in the application.

• A complete employment history for the past seven years, including the current employer, is required.
