Profee Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across a minimum of 1–4 specialties

• Code professional fees, facility, or HCC services

• Calculate Professional Fee inpatient and observation E/M levels utilizing the company algorithm

• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity

• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the highest level of specificity

• Precisely assign ICD-10-CM, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes

• Interpret coding guidelines to ensure accurate code assignments

• Evaluate the significance of documentation and its impact on reimbursement

• Provide coding services in support of clients

• Adhere to AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

• Engage in the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Program

• Participate in training and education provided by the company

• Maintain at least one credential from AAPC or AHIMA

• Safeguard personal health information and other confidential company data

• Uphold required standards for productivity, accuracy, and quality

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory

• At least 6 months of hands-on experience is required

• Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is essential

• Familiarity with EMR, billing, and similar systems is necessary

• Access to a phone, reliable internet connection, and current CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references is required

• Must achieve and maintain a productivity and accuracy rate of 95% or higher

• A quality score of 95% or above must be maintained

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is needed

• Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills are essential

• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines is required

• Capability to work independently from home with coding skills

• Ability to work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours daily

• Infrequent ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs. is necessary
