Profee Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding services across 1–4 specialties

• Calculate ProFee levels utilizing the company-developed algorithm

• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity

• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the highest level of specificity

• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes

• Interpret coding guidelines to ensure precise code assignment

• Evaluate the significance of documentation and its effect on reimbursement

• Provide coding services that support clients’ reimbursement cycles

• Adhere to AHIMA ethical coding standards, the Company’s Code of Ethics, and compliance protocols

• Follow internal policies and procedures diligently

• Engage in company-sponsored training and educational opportunities

• Maintain at least one AAPC or AHIMA credential

• Safeguard confidential information and Personal Health Information

• Execute additional tasks as assigned by leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• Certification through either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)

• At least 2 years of relevant on-the-job experience

• Experience in 1–4 specialties, including Primary Care, Trauma, Orthopedic, and Neurology

• Proficient knowledge and experience with EMR and billing systems

• Access to phone, reliable internet connection, and current CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references

• Maintain a productivity and accuracy rate of 95% or higher

• Achieve a quality score of 95% or above

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, both effective and professional

• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines

• Consistent, predictable, and punctual attendance

• Capacity to work independently from home

• Capability to work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs. when necessary
