This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Assist the Lead Fashion Designer in the apparel development and production workflow.
• Oversee the garment development process from initial designs and technical specifications to final production.
• Liaise with patternmakers, sample rooms, fabric suppliers, trim vendors, manufacturers, and other production collaborators.
• Monitor samples, revisions, approvals, purchase orders, production timelines, and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate samples and organize feedback regarding fit, construction, materials, color, trims, and finishing touches.
• Keep production documents updated, such as tech packs, bills of materials, size specifications, colorways, and revision notes.
• Assist in sourcing and ordering fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other components needed for garments.
• Track production milestones and identify any delays, quality concerns, supply issues, or cost challenges.
• Help ensure that garments conform to approved designs, specifications, quality benchmarks, and brand standards.
• Organize fit sessions, sample evaluations, approvals, and production transitions.
• Conduct or facilitate quality control inspections.
• Maintain comprehensive records of samples, materials, vendor details, costs, timelines, and production status.
• Support planning for inventory and availability of materials.
• Assist with costing, quantity planning, purchase orders, and budget management for production.
• Coordinate final product inspections, packing requirements, shipping details, and delivery timelines.
• Provide consistent production updates to the Lead Fashion Designer and relevant internal stakeholders.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in apparel production, garment manufacturing, fashion operations, or a similar field.
• Familiarity with the clothing production process, which includes sampling, fittings, patternmaking, grading, construction, and manufacturing.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Capability to read and work with tech packs, garment specifications, measurement charts, and bills of materials.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies in garments and production documents.
• Experience in communicating with factories, suppliers, sample rooms, and production vendors.
• Proficiency in managing multiple styles, deadlines, and stages of production at once.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets, production tracking tools, and standard office software.
• Ability to work collaboratively under the guidance of a Lead Fashion Designer.
