
Product Support Engineer, Software β Proton Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
β’ Provide technical assistance for the installation, deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle support of Proton Therapy software systems.
β’ Facilitate software installations and upgrades at customer locations, both on-site and remotely.
β’ Engage in global deployment efforts alongside field and engineering teams.
β’ Implement software rollouts and system integration tasks.
β’ Aid in validation, testing, and support following deployment.
β’ Investigate and resolve software issues reported by customers in collaboration with Field Service, Product Support Engineering, and development teams.
β’ Troubleshoot software, networking, and system infrastructure elements.
β’ Document findings, corrective measures, and lessons learned.
β’ Escalate complex, high-risk, or safety-critical issues as necessary.
β’ Assist with new product introductions and software releases.
β’ Gather field feedback and pinpoint opportunities for product enhancements.
β’ Support change control, defect management, and complaint investigations.
β’ Identify and report concerns regarding software, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability.
β’ Contribute to initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
β’ Aid in the design and delivery of technical training materials.
β’ Create and maintain service documentation, technical instructions, and support resources.
β’ Minimum of 2 years of direct, hands-on experience supporting ProBeam or ProBeam 360 as a Field Service Engineer or Product Support Engineer.
β’ Strong troubleshooting abilities across software, networking, and IT infrastructure.
β’ Experience in supporting medical device systems within a customer-facing setting.
β’ Proven capability to manage multiple technical issues and prioritize tasks effectively.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
β’ Proficient in English (both written and verbal).
β’ Must live in close proximity to a Varian ProBeam or ProBeam 360 customer site.
β’ Willingness to accommodate customer schedules, including nights, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
β’ Must satisfy customer site access, credentialing, and safety requirements as applicable.
β’ Ability to work in clinical and technical environments, including radiation areas, electrical systems, and other safety-sensitive conditions.
β’ Preferred: Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
β’ Preferred: Experience with software development, scripting, or automation tools.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with system monitoring, data analysis, or reliability engineering practices.
β’ Preferred: Experience in supporting global deployments or multi-site system environments.
