Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess designs to ensure adherence to global regulatory standards.

• Conduct technical evaluations and identify gaps.

• Offer compliance support to engineering during the design phase and to the operations team during production.

• Analyze regulatory requirements for custom engineering and OEM design proposals.

• Assist in submissions for regulatory compliance based on test reports.

• Oversee external laboratory testing and compliance contractor management.

• Collaborate with the production quality team in the case of non-compliance notifications.

• Create and assist in developing test plans for Engineering and Production teams.

• Keep informed about the latest standards and developments in the regulatory environment.

• Operate testing equipment as needed to help address non-compliance issues.

• Coordinate schedules for compliance between external vendors and the internal team within a product commercialization context.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design or testing of consumer or commercial products.

• At least 3 years of experience in Regulatory Compliance.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.

• Excellent communication skills for the creation and review of technical documents.

• In-depth understanding of common electrical, mobile, wireless, and battery regulations, including FCC, CE, IEC, VCCI, UN38.3, etc.

• Familiarity with international product safety standards such as CE, WEEE, RoHS, REACH, UL, etc.

• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize time.

• Proven track record in managing external vendors.
