Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and manage the product backlog to ensure it aligns with business priorities and is development-ready.

• Convert business needs into user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical considerations.

• Maintain a backlog that is ready for the next two sprints.

• Make daily prioritization decisions and provide clarity to the development team.

• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, analysts, Finance, and other stakeholders.

• Gain an understanding of data sources, integrations, workflows, and dependencies.

• Assist with data integrations, APIs, data pipelines, reporting, data quality, and system-to-system workflows.

• Define acceptance criteria and verify delivered solutions against business requirements.

• Transform financial and operational requirements into actionable tasks.

• Support financial data, reporting, reconciliation, payment workflows, and system integrations.

• Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team to plan and fulfill sprint commitments.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Identify and communicate risks, blockers, and dependencies.

• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for product direction, requirements, and priorities.

• Provide status updates and facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Utilize Jira, Confluence, Excel, and PowerPoint for workflow management, requirements gathering, and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or in a similar role.

• A solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and the Product Owner's function within a cross-functional team.

• Experience in translating business requirements into concise user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a high-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence.

• Preferred: experience working with data, analytics, integration, or technology teams.

• Preferred: working knowledge of databases, data integrations, APIs, data pipelines, data quality, and reporting.

• Preferred: familiarity with SQL or other tools for querying, validating, or analyzing data.

• Preferred: ability to comprehend technical documentation, data flows, and system dependencies.

• Preferred: experience collaborating with Finance teams or supporting financial systems and business processes.

• Preferred: understanding of payment processing, payment workflows, transaction data, reconciliation, or related financial integrations.

• Preferred: experience in supporting data platforms, data warehouses, business intelligence, or system integration projects.
