Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and IT development teams for new systems, product enhancements, and technology solutions across various business units.

• Function as the Product Owner within Agile development teams.

• Collect, analyze, document, validate, and prioritize business requirements.

• Convert requirements into actionable user stories and functional specifications.

• Oversee and prioritize product backlogs.

• Establish acceptance criteria.

• Assist with sprint planning, reviews, testing, and release activities.

• Assess applications, technologies, and system capabilities, recommending solutions to enhance business performance and operational efficiency.

• Lead the analysis of business data requirements, data quality needs, business rules, and process dependencies.

• Collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and end users to design business processes and technology solutions.

• Support product roadmaps, continuous improvement initiatives, and change portfolios aligned with business strategy.

• Create process documentation, workflow diagrams, and business models.

• Provide reporting, analysis, and recommendations that support business decision-making and organizational performance enhancements.

• Foster cross-functional relationships and offer guidance to less experienced team members as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Project Manager, or in a related role.

• Experience working in Agile and Scrum delivery environments.

• Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional business and technical stakeholders to define and implement technology solutions.

• Proficient in gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, product ownership principles, and requirements management practices.

• Ability to translate complex business needs into concise functional requirements and technology solutions.

• Experience with business process analysis, workflow design, and process improvement methodologies.

• Familiarity with data analysis concepts, data quality principles, and reporting solutions.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong capabilities in stakeholder management, collaboration, and relationship-building.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality and attention to detail.

• Quick to understand and evaluate new technologies and emerging digital capabilities.

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Product Owner certification is preferred.

• Experience in supporting enterprise-wide technology initiatives across various business functions is preferred.

• Background in developing or contributing to product roadmaps and strategic change initiatives is preferred.

• Experience with data modeling, business intelligence, reporting, or data governance activities is preferred.

• Familiarity with government contracting, engineering, technology, or highly regulated industries is preferred.
