This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design and development of Alpaca’s fundamental clearing infrastructure encompassing brokerage, custody, ledger, asset movement, and global market growth.
• Establish the long-term framework for accounts, positions, balances, ledgers, journals, settlements, stock records, and regulatory documentation.
• Create multi-currency cash and position systems for global equities, foreign exchange, fractional trading, options, bonds, Treasuries, fixed income, mutual funds, and various asset classes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prototype and create new clearing services.
• Work collaboratively across various departments including operations, finance, treasury, compliance, legal, risk, and product.
• Convert intricate clearing, custody, and regulatory requirements into actionable product and engineering specifications.
• Assist in transforming the U.S.-focused brokerage infrastructure into a comprehensive, multi-asset, multi-currency clearing platform.
• A minimum of 5 years in Product Management, technical program management, or engineering related to brokerage, clearing, or post-trade infrastructure.
• Over 10 years of experience in brokerage, clearing, custody, prime brokerage, trading infrastructure, financial market infrastructure, or capital markets technology.
• Proven expertise in at least one area of clearing: settlement and stock record, books and records, corporate actions, margin, ACATS, or DTCC processing.
• Highly technical, capable of collaborating directly with engineers and product teams to translate complex domain needs into scalable system designs.
• Comfortable delivering projects in alignment with Compliance, Legal, and Operations within a regulated broker-dealer setting.
• Strong operational judgment balancing risk, efficiency, capital allocation, technical feasibility, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Experience in leading senior teams and influencing across functions in a rapidly growing environment.
• Preferred: experience in building, converting, or modernizing corporate-action processing, a security master, or a self-clearing back office.
• Preferred: background in global brokerage expansion, international equities, foreign exchange, local market custody, omnibus models, sub-ledgers, and currency controls.
• Preferred: knowledge of the B2B2C correspondent / broker-as-a-service model.
• Preferred: familiarity with AI-native product management workflows using tools like Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or custom agents.
