This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.
• Take ownership of the complete product vision and roadmap for the Cards portfolio, ensuring alignment with company KPIs and customer requirements.
• Identify, prioritize, and deliver features that enhance activation rates, usage, engagement, and retention throughout the cards journey.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to guarantee that products adhere to card scheme regulations (Visa/Mastercard), PCI-DSS standards, and applicable financial regulations (e.g., PSD2) from design to launch.
• Work alongside Engineering, Design, and Data teams to convert customer challenges into tangible, measurable product improvements.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with third-party partners, such as card issuers/processors and card schemes.
• Manage the customer experience for card servicing, which includes freezing/unfreezing cards, replacements, PIN management, and in-app card controls.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to enhance card servicing experiences.
• Clearly communicate the roadmap, trade-offs, and progress updates to stakeholders and leadership, including regular reporting on delivery status and product KPIs.
• Analyze the competitive landscape of challenger banks, neobanks, and card issuers on a global scale.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of assigned projects.
• Conduct team evaluations, identify training requirements, motivate, and manage team performance in conjunction with the Team Lead.
• Implement strategies to monitor, manage, and report progress on team delivery initiatives.
• Develop and sustain a prioritized product backlog.
• Serve as both an internal and external product advocate and a point of reference for product-related inquiries.
• Over 5 years of product management experience, preferably within a digital bank, fintech, card issuer, or payments organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related area; equivalent practical experience will also be accepted.
• An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Formal certification in product management (e.g., CSPO) is advantageous but not essential.
• Direct experience managing a card product (debit, credit, or prepaid) from start to finish, including interactions with card processors/issuers and scheme relationships (Visa/Mastercard).
• Proven track record of delivering customer-facing features in a fast-paced, agile environment, with clear evidence of measurable outcomes (conversion, activation, NPS, revenue).
• Experience in a regulated environment, collaborating with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams on product decisions.
• Background in a scale-up or high-growth fintech setting, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iterations.
• A foundation in software development would be beneficial.
• Strong product intuition: capability to translate customer pain points and business objectives into a clear, prioritized roadmap.
• Analytical and metrics-oriented: proficient in interpreting data and utilizing it to make and defend product decisions.
• Comprehensive understanding of card payment systems, authorization flows, settlement processes, and the broader card issuing ecosystem.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities; skilled at influencing engineering, design, risk, and leadership teams.
• Strong commercial insight with knowledge of interchange, unit economics, and how card products generate revenue and costs.
• User-centered approach, with experience conducting user research, usability tests, or collaborating closely with design teams.
• Comfortable working independently, focusing on outcomes rather than outputs, in a culture that prioritizes speed and iteration over strict processes.
• Familiarity with fraud prevention, dispute management, and chargeback processes is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like Jira, Linear, or similar is preferred.
