Product Engineering Lead, QVAC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the teams responsible for developing QV.AC features and enhancing the app experience using Tether’s local AI infrastructure.

• Report directly to the Chief Technology Officer and follow guidance from product leadership.

• Manage daily operations of app and feature teams, including removing obstacles, reviewing progress, and sustaining delivery momentum.

• Establish and uphold high engineering standards for performance, reliability, and clean API development.

• Take ownership of the technical design for features and the API interface between the AI core and the application.

• Collaborate with AI research and deep-tech teams on code reviews, design, modeling, and inference processes.

• Work alongside product managers to translate vision and roadmap into well-defined, actionable tasks.

• Question unrealistic project scopes and suggest improved implementation strategies.

• Provide an engineering perspective on product decisions regarding local model functionalities.

• Employ AI tools and rapid prototyping to test and validate concepts.

• Define team objectives and establish success criteria.

• Mentor team leads and enhance team operational systems and collaboration.

• Exemplify leadership while empowering teams to take ownership of their projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing engineers or engineering leads who deliver consumer products, preferably AI-driven applications.

• Strong intuition for product development.

• Understanding of applied AI and constraints associated with on-device processing, such as model size, latency, memory, battery life, and reliability.

• Extensive experience with AI tools and a passion for experimenting with new models and features.

• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript and React.

• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the ability to both provide and accept constructive feedback.

• Preferred: experience with local or on-device inference, evaluations of large language models, cross-platform mobile and desktop applications, or contributions to open-source projects.

• Excellent proficiency in English communication.
