Product Engineering Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the API and frontend teams, facilitating their progress, conducting reviews, and ensuring timely deliveries.

• Establish and uphold a high standard of engineering excellence focused on performance, reliability, and well-designed APIs.

• Take ownership of the technical architecture for features and manage the API interface between Keet's core and the application.

• Foster collaboration between the API team and advanced technology teams during code reviews and design discussions.

• Collaborate with Keet product managers to translate vision and roadmap into clearly defined, actionable tasks.

• Address discrepancies between project scope and reality, suggesting more effective strategies.

• Provide an engineering viewpoint on product decisions that involve P2P functionalities.

• Leverage AI tools and rapid prototypes to test and validate concepts.

• Clarify team objectives and success metrics.

• Guide team leads and enhance team workflows and collaboration practices.

• Exemplify leadership while empowering teams to assume responsibility.

• Report directly to the CTO and follow product direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing engineers or engineering leads who deliver consumer products, preferably in chat, calling, or social applications.

• Strong sense of product development.

• Intuitive understanding of distributed and local-first systems.

• Familiarity with offline-first principles and eventual consistency.

• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript and React.

• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and resilience.

• Ability to provide and accept straightforward feedback.

• Bonus: experience with local-first applications, CRDTs, synchronization engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop applications, or open source projects.
