Product Engineering Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the API and frontend teams as they develop features for Keet.

• Remove obstacles for teams, review their work, and ensure timely delivery.

• Establish and uphold engineering standards focused on performance, reliability, and well-structured APIs.

• Take ownership of the technical design for features and the API interface between Keet’s core and application.

• Collaborate with advanced technology teams on code reviews and design related to the engine.

• Work closely with product managers to transform vision and roadmap into actionable, buildable tasks.

• Question unrealistic scopes and suggest improved methodologies.

• Provide an engineering viewpoint in product decisions that relate to peer-to-peer capabilities.

• Utilize AI tools and rapid prototyping to test and validate ideas.

• Define team objectives and success metrics.

• Mentor team leads and enhance team operational frameworks.

• Report directly to the CTO while receiving guidance from the product team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing engineers or engineering leads who develop consumer products, preferably in chat, calling, or social applications.

• Strong understanding of product development.

• Intuition regarding distributed and local-first systems.

• Knowledge of offline-first strategies and eventual consistency.

• Proficient in JavaScript and React.

• Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the capability to give and receive constructive feedback.

• Bonus: Familiarity with local-first applications, CRDTs, synchronization engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop applications, or open-source projects.

• Ability to work remotely from a qualified country.
