Product Engineering Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Andorra.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily activities of the API and frontend teams, ensuring unblocking, reviewing, and delivery maintenance.

• Establish and uphold high engineering standards for performance, reliability, and clean API design.

• Take ownership of the technical design for features and manage the API interface between Keet’s core and its application.

• Facilitate collaboration within the API team and engage with deep technology teams on code reviews and design discussions.

• Collaborate with product managers to transform vision and roadmap into well-defined, actionable work.

• Challenge unrealistic project scopes and suggest more effective approaches.

• Provide an engineering perspective on product decisions related to P2P functionalities.

• Utilize AI tools and rapid prototyping to test and validate concepts.

• Set team objectives and define success metrics.

• Mentor team leads and enhance the team's operational frameworks.

• Report directly to the CTO and follow guidance from product leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing engineers or engineering leads responsible for delivering consumer products, particularly in chat, calling, or social applications.

• Strong sense of product development.

• Intuitive understanding of distributed and local-first systems.

• Familiarity with offline-first strategies and eventual consistency principles.

• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript and React.

• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, resilience, and a capacity for giving and receiving constructive feedback.

• Bonus: experience with local-first applications, CRDTs, synchronization engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop apps, or contributions to open-source projects.

• Must be prepared to answer questions regarding P2P experience and leading engineering teams focused on consumer-facing products.
