Product Engineering Lead, 100% Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead teams in developing QV.AC features and enhancing the app experience utilizing Tether’s local AI stack.

• Report directly to the CTO and follow guidance from the product team.

• Take ownership of feature development and uphold engineering standards.

• Manage daily operations of app and feature teams by removing obstacles, conducting reviews, and ensuring continuous delivery.

• Establish benchmarks for performance, reliability, and clean API design.

• Oversee the technical design of features and the API interactions between the AI core and the application.

• Collaborate with AI research and deep tech teams on code evaluations, design, models, and inference processes.

• Work alongside product managers to transform visions and roadmaps into actionable, buildable projects.

• Question unrealistic project scopes and suggest improved implementation strategies.

• Provide an engineering viewpoint on product decisions related to local model capabilities.

• Utilize AI tools and rapid prototypes to test and validate concepts.

• Define team objectives and clarify what success looks like.

• Mentor team leads and enhance team operational systems.

• Set an example through hands-on leadership and support when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing engineers or engineering leads responsible for delivering consumer products, particularly AI-driven applications.

• Strong understanding of product development.

• Insight into applied AI and constraints related to on-device operations, such as model size, latency, memory usage, and battery life.

• Capability to differentiate between reliable features and demos.

• No expertise in ML research is necessary.

• Extensive use of AI tools and a willingness to explore new models and capabilities.

• Proficient in JavaScript and React.

• Possess initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the ability to both give and receive constructive criticism.

• Preferred: experience with local or on-device inference, LLM evaluations, cross-platform mobile and desktop applications, or open-source projects.

• Excellent communication skills in English.
