Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identify significant challenges within the organization, determine solutions to implement, and execute them.

• Report directly to the Vice President of Engineering.

• Develop full-stack features tailored for school administrators and substitute educators.

• Create operational systems for the marketplace, covering billing, timekeeping, configurations, integrations, and administrative tools.

• Design automations and AI agents to eliminate manual tasks.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Customer Success, Sales, and Finance teams.

• Navigate problems from initial discussions to the delivery of software.

• Establish requirements, define project scope, make user experience and product trade-offs, and assess when work is ready for release.

• Utilize data and user insights to evaluate outcomes.

• Streamline repetitive workflows through software, AI agents, APIs, MCP, and n8n.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in software engineering or equivalent practical experience in product development.

• Successfully launched real products utilized by customers.

• Proficient in React for crafting user interfaces using JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Experience with REST APIs.

• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.

• Practical experience with LLM APIs, agents, or AI-driven workflows.

• Competence in defining requirements, setting project scope, making user experience and product decisions, and determining readiness for shipping.

• Ability to collaborate during U.S. business hours.

• Candidates must currently possess authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without any current or future sponsorship.

• Experience with Clojure or other Lisp variants, Datomic, AWS infrastructure, or browser extensions is a plus.
