This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of product challenges from start to finish, addressing customer hurdles through solution development, execution, launch, and refinement.
• Work collaboratively with product, UX, and engineering teams to drive solutions focused on customer needs.
• Engage with customers through conversations, calls, support thread reviews, and observation of actual product usage.
• Write well-tested code and conduct constructive code reviews.
• Utilize coding agents and enhance agent context, tooling, and guidelines.
• Assist in constructing the internal software factory to streamline tasks from Linear to agents and human evaluations.
• Oversee and manage technical debt along with architectural enhancements.
• Suggest and advocate for best practices in Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and database architecture.
• Develop private and public GraphQL APIs for front-end, CLI, and customer automation purposes.
• Lead technical investigations and create prototypes.
• Deliver work reliably and communicate proactively if projects deviate from the plan.
• Guide and mentor colleagues to foster their professional development.
• Engage in on-call support for Ruby on Rails, Vue.js, GraphQL, and MySQL issues.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails, or 7 years with a comparable web framework such as Spring, Django, or Node.js.
• Proficient in designing architectures with clear interface boundaries and a focus on separation of concerns.
• Familiarity with SOLID principles in software development.
• Extensive knowledge of Rails.
• Experience in creating efficient MySQL data models.
• Understanding of RDBMS data structuring, indexing, denormalization, along with troubleshooting and optimizing slow queries.
• Background in utilizing AI tools and making informed decisions about their effective application.
• Strong product insight and the capability to grasp user requirements prior to design.
• Nice to have: experience in building agent systems beyond autocomplete, such as evaluation harnesses, custom tools, MCP servers, or internal workflows.
• Nice to have: familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Rails job systems like Sidekiq, Redis, and large-scale web applications.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Must be located in North America and possess work authorization in the respective country.
