Product Designer – B2B SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary designer supporting various product squads.

• Navigate prioritized requirements through a process of exploration, testing, iteration, and refinement until the software is shipped.

• Establish the design pace, make informed design decisions, and engage engineering and product stakeholders in the process.

• Develop and enhance IMP's design playbook and design operations.

• Impact the design of both established and next-generation greenfield products.

• Contribute to IMPDesign.one, a cohesive AI-generated design system subject to human review.

• Play a role in IMPDesign.skills, which leverages AI to enhance design capabilities and minimize routine tasks.

• Engage with IMPInsight, the platform for user feedback and insights.

• Generate various concept alternatives based on prioritized requirements.

• Conduct usability tests with real users and internal domain experts.

• Gather feedback, iterate, and assist squads in achieving robust final solutions.

• Aid in story breakdown and technical refinement throughout the build process.

• Collaborate closely with product owners, product specialists, engineering, and product teams.

• Participate in peer reviews alongside the Head of Product Design.

• Manage personal workload and engage in weekly planning, coaching, and mentoring sessions.

• No responsibilities for managing other team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as the design lead within a squad or team, serving as the sole designer making key decisions.

• Ability to articulate the journey of a project from requirements through to shipped software, including decision-making processes.

• Self-motivated individual capable of managing work independently in a remote, sole-designer environment.

• Familiarity with generative AI in design practices or active engagement in exploring its potential.

• Openness to experimenting with the Terminal.

• An experimental mindset, demonstrating what you have created, encountered, or learned.

• Experience in designing intricate, data-intensive products.

• Proficient writing skills enabling a remote team to follow your reasoning without the need for meetings.

• A portfolio that showcases your thought process and design journey, rather than just final outputs.

• Experience with accounting, finance, or budgeting software is a plus.

• Background in B2B SaaS, particularly dealing with professional users under time constraints, is advantageous.

• Experience in designing interfaces that utilize AI outputs, including states for review, confidence levels, corrections, and human-in-the-loop processes is a plus.

• Experience in designing across a multi-product platform or suite is a bonus.

• Familiarity with public sector, education, or regulated domains is a benefit.
