This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Transform customer and business objectives into engaging, straightforward, purposeful, and viable products.
• Create multiple solutions for identified challenges throughout the product suite.
• Oversee projects from the discovery phase and concept ideation to flows, wireframes, full-fidelity prototypes, and final delivery.
• Ensure that designs cater to non-technical users, emphasizing simplicity, speed, and trust.
• Collaborate with leadership and product marketing stakeholders to ensure design concepts align with customer needs and desired outcomes.
• Work alongside business stakeholders, product managers, engineers, and designers in a triad model.
• Present design processes, inspirations, decisions, and rationales to stakeholders.
• Utilize storytelling to convey complex design rationales and foster alignment.
• Share design work during reviews, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions.
• Advocate for cohesion, consistency, accessibility, experience strategy, and the use of design systems.
• Contribute to the development and evolution of design system standards.
• Link screens into cohesive user flows.
• Implement Jobs-to-be-Done methodology and user-centered design principles.
• Conduct customer interviews and usability testing, translating insights into design iterations.
• Comprehend customer needs, core workflows, and business goals to make informed design choices.
• Continuously enhance design skills and deepen knowledge in one or two core areas.
• Mentor peers and share insights with the team.
• Foster WorkWave's culture and principles.
• Engage in design critiques and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with design trends, tools, methodologies, and AI-enhanced product design.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a user experience/product designer, interaction designer, information architect, or a similar role.
• Demonstrated success in delivering product design initiatives that enhanced user outcomes or improved business metrics.
• Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality digital products that yielded results and highlighted the depth of design skills.
• Proven ability to clearly communicate design decisions and their impact on the customer.
• Capacity to articulate and present complex problems clearly to varied audiences.
• In-depth understanding of user-centered design processes and human-computer interaction principles.
• Ability to assess the customer and business impact of design decisions.
• Proficiency in modern design tools, with a preference for Figma.
• Experience employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the design arena.
• Dedication to continuous learning and staying abreast of design trends and best practices.
• Experience with complex workflows in enterprise or SaaS products, especially in B2B environments, is beneficial.
• Familiarity with service industry workflows or field service management is advantageous.
• Background in enterprise product design or financial services product design is a plus.
• Experience with AI-driven features or data-centric product experiences is a plus.
• Exposure to systems/service-level challenges is a plus.
• Knowledge of Jobs-to-be-Done methodology and service design principles is advantageous.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices is beneficial.
• Experience with design systems and component-based design is advantageous.
• Experience mentoring junior designers or leading design initiatives is a plus.
• Familiarity with cross-functional product teams employing agile methodologies is advantageous.
• Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders and executives is beneficial.
