Procurement Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Engage daily with supply chain managers, operations teams, and value stream leaders to identify and prioritize essential supplier parts based on business and site requirements.

• Collaborate closely with the procurement team to escalate part-related issues, secure supplier commitments, and update SAP Mismatch tools along with internal tracking documents.

• Work with procurement to enhance supplier schedules to align with material requirements planning (MRP) needs, and communicate status updates to operations and supply chain managers.

• Maintain precise SAP and internal tracking data to enhance visibility into material availability.

• Verify supplier commitments and input updated information into SAP and tracking files.

• Provide daily updates on the status of critical parts and highlight any risks or changes.

• Remove internal barriers through the approval process, including quality inspections, first article reviews, and engineering changes.

• Participate in weekly supply chain, site, and business unit meetings to present part status updates and support initiatives.

• Manage the RAIL and update EPS and ECS presentations accordingly.

• Oversee ship commitments spreadsheets in relation to demand and overdue items.

• Gather and document information on second- and third-source suppliers and drive open actions.

• Track quality notifications, supplier-related issues, and first article inspections, ensuring prompt resolution.

• Analyze processing times for open SRIs, prioritize them, and guarantee timely follow-up and closure.

• Assist the supply chain team and stakeholders with minor actions and ad hoc tasks.

• Enhance turnaround time for problematic parts through proactive coordination.

• Identify risks affecting line replaceable unit (LRU) builds and escalate concerns as needed.

• Optimize communication processes throughout the supply chain.

• Employ data tracking tools to enhance reporting precision, forecasting, and decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in procurement and supply chain functions, with the ability to comprehend supplier commitments and material requirements.

• A strong customer service orientation with the ability to assist internal stakeholders and respond swiftly to inquiries related to parts.

• Proficiency in data entry and the maintenance of accurate records in tracking tools and enterprise systems such as SAP.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with operations and supply chain personnel on a daily basis.

• Skill in identifying and escalating part issues, coordinating resolutions across various teams.

• Capability to manage and update spreadsheets and tracking documents, including ship commitments and material status reports.

• Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for managing material and supplier information.

• Experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments is advantageous.

• Comfort in utilizing multiple data tracking tools and presentations, including EPS and ECS formats.

• Ability to evaluate processing times and prioritize issues based on risk and impact.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and follow-ups concurrently.

• Attention to detail when monitoring quality notifications, supplier issues, and first article inspections.
