• Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with dependable suppliers and vendors.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure optimal deals.

• Create and implement purchasing strategies for lumber and building materials.

• Analyze market trends and modify procurement plans as needed.

• Place orders, oversee inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of products.

• Manage and resolve issues related to order fulfillment and quality.

• Monitor and analyze purchasing expenses and develop strategies for cost reduction.

• Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.

• Assist in forecasting demand and adjusting procurement timelines.

• Maintain precise records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.

• Prepare and present reports detailing procurement activities, expenditures, and performance metrics.

• Ensure that purchasing activities adhere to company policies and legal regulations.

• Stay informed on industry standards and best practices.

• Occasionally travel to branch locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Reside in the Mid-West or West Coast regions.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience as a Procurement Specialist in the lumber industry.

• Strong skills in negotiation and contract management.

• Excellent understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.

• Proficient in procurement software and tools.

• Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
