Process Operations Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Adhere to all procedural guidelines as well as health, environmental, and safety regulations.

• Operate and oversee chemical processes remotely using a Distributed Control System (DCS).

• Assist in plant startup, manage steady-state operations, and facilitate shutdown recovery.

• Track essential process metrics and perform real-time adjustments to ensure optimal performance.

• Address process disturbances and emergencies in accordance with established protocols.

• Detect and resolve process irregularities, equipment malfunctions, and safety issues.

• Collaborate with onsite operators to synchronize operations and address challenges.

• Maintain precise work records and assist with regulatory and contractual reporting obligations.

• Work alongside maintenance, quality, and engineering teams for improved efficiency.

• Utilize CMMS and other systems to organize and monitor operational data.

• Manage priorities and navigate competing demands within a fast-paced environment.

• Engage in continuous improvement activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• An associate degree in process technology, biological systems, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in process operations, ideally in fertilizer production, chemical manufacturing, wastewater treatment, or a comparable industrial setting.

• Capability to read and understand PFDs and P&IDs.

• Proficiency in DCS platforms and remote monitoring software.

• Familiarity with CMMS systems; Maintenance Connection is preferred.

• Experience with data visualization tools like Grafana and InfluxDB is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.

• Familiarity with CAD viewing tools.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and professionalism.

• Understanding of quality control standards and regulatory requirements.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident.
