This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare and draft probate petitions, pleadings, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and related court submissions.
• Oversee probate matters from the initiation of the estate to final distribution and closure.
• Create and revise estate planning documents, which include wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and associated materials.
• Draft correspondence, engagement letters, and communications for clients.
• Collaborate with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, financial institutions, title companies, and court officials.
• Track court deadlines and ensure the maintenance of accurate case calendars.
• Organize and manage electronic client files and legal documentation.
• Assist attorneys in gathering estate assets, preparing inventories, and organizing necessary supporting documents.
• Schedule client meetings and support attorney calendar management.
• Uphold strict confidentiality while demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Probate Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
• Extensive experience managing probate administration from the opening of an estate to its final closure.
• Proven experience in drafting probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and related court submissions.
• Background in estate planning, including the drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents.
• Strong knowledge of probate court processes and filing requirements.
• Experience in direct communication with clients, courts, financial institutions, and fiduciaries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational, proofreading, and time management skills.
• Capability to independently prioritize multiple matters in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of New York law is essential.
• Must be a resident of the United States.
• Familiarity with electronic court filing systems is required.
• Experience with trust administration is preferred.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting.
• Flexibility to work remotely.
