Privacy and Data Protection Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide legal counsel to Product, Marketing, and business teams throughout the entire product lifecycle regarding legal and regulatory obligations and risks.

• Recognize legal and regulatory challenges and suggest innovative, business-oriented solutions for mitigation.

• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts.

• Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Supervise data governance, data mapping, and retention policies.

• Ensure that vendors adhere to data privacy and security standards.

• Track pertinent industry and consumer protection laws and regulations.

• Collaborate with Marketing and go-to-market teams to ensure compliance of consumer-facing materials with relevant requirements.

• Work alongside the broader Legal & Compliance team on corporate and enterprise initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in a product counsel capacity at a law firm or within an in-house legal department.

• Experience specifically related to regulatory compliance in either a law firm or in-house corporate setting.

• Familiarity with and application of RESPA, UDAAP, CCPA, GDPR, TCPA, and GLBA.

• Digital fluency or a willingness to learn new technologies.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

• Applicants must be located in the U.S.

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
