Prior Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Initiate, manage, and conduct clinical reviews of prior authorization requests for medications and supplies.

• Ensure adherence to payer specifications and clinical protocols.

• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and patients to collect essential clinical data and documentation.

• Accurately submit prior authorization requests in a timely manner utilizing electronic submission systems and established procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or a licensed/registered pharmacy technician, or relevant experience in Pharmacy.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting.

• Understanding of pharmacy or healthcare-related concepts.

• Familiarity with pharmacy terminology, including sig codes, Roman numerals, and brand/generic names of medications.

• Basic mathematical and analytical abilities.

• Intermediate typing and keyboard skills.

• Knowledge of pharmacy benefits and the prior authorization process.

• Capability to execute all prior authorization tasks effectively.
