Prior Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Initiate, process, and manage the clinical review of prior authorization requests for medications and supplies.

• Ensure adherence to payer requirements and clinical guidelines.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to collect clinical information and documentation.

• Accurately submit prior authorization requests in a timely manner using electronic submission platforms.

• Adhere to established prior authorization protocols.

• Execute all functions related to prior authorization.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or a licensed/registered pharmacy technician, or previous experience in a pharmacy setting.

• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience.

• Knowledge in pharmacy or healthcare-related fields.

• Familiarity with pharmacy terminology, including sig codes, Roman numerals, and the brand/generic names of medications.

• Basic mathematical and analytical skills.

• Intermediate typing and keyboard proficiency.

• Understanding of pharmacy benefits and the prior authorization process.

• Availability to work Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM CST.
