Prior Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Initiate, manage, and conduct the clinical evaluation of prior authorization requests for medications and supplies.

• Ensure adherence to payer specifications and clinical standards.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to collect essential clinical data and documentation.

• Accurately and promptly submit prior authorization requests utilizing electronic submission systems and established protocols.

• Execute all functions related to prior authorization.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or a licensed/registered pharmacy technician, or relevant prior experience in Pharmacy.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting.

• Familiarity with pharmacy or healthcare-related concepts.

• Understanding of pharmacy terminology, including sig codes, Roman numerals, and both brand and generic medication names.

• Fundamental math and analytical skills.

• Intermediate proficiency in typing and keyboarding.

• Working knowledge of pharmacy benefits and the prior authorization process.

• Availability for a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (MST or PST).
