This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +11 more states.
• Oversee the design process for the redevelopment of Grove Collaborative’s core site.
• Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Product to establish the vision and strategy for the core site experience.
• Develop design principles and convert the Human Health positioning into an engaging customer experience.
• Set the design direction, make autonomous decisions, and escalate cross-system trade-offs to the manager when necessary.
• Define the end-to-end experiences for the homepage, categories, search, product details, cart, and checkout.
• Create reusable design-system patterns for implementation by various teams.
• Utilize AI prototyping on a weekly basis and collaborate with Engineering and UX Designers on shared components and patterns.
• Engage in the recurring Walk The Store series alongside the CEO and leadership team.
• Provide design insights during live customer experience reviews and transform findings into prioritized rebuild tasks.
• Mentor designers, establish practical quality standards, and elevate the team's level of expertise.
• Report directly to the Head of Product Management & UX.
• Proven experience in deconstructing and reconstructing a real commerce experience while maintaining business continuity.
• Capability to lead initiatives over multiple quarters and execute rapid two-week sprints.
• Experience designing at scale for consumers engaged in shopping, comparing, and decision-making.
• Strong grasp of merchandising, search functionalities, and subscription mechanics.
• Understanding of the systems that inform design decisions and their associated costs.
• Regular use of AI prototyping tools and awareness of their capabilities and limitations.
• Ability to present work effectively to executives, provide advice on trade-offs and sequencing, accept constructive feedback, and influence decision-making.
• Skills in mentoring and developing fellow designers.
• Proficiency in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and systems thinking.
• Quick expertise in Figma.
• Experience in subscription or replenishment commerce is preferred as an additional advantage.
• Background in health, wellness, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or sustainability is preferred as an additional advantage.
• Experience in establishing or revitalizing an engineering-adopted design system is preferred as an additional advantage.
• Experience in a public company or turnaround environment is preferred as an additional advantage.
• Research fluency, including the ability to conduct independent studies, is preferred as an additional advantage.
